Q: |
I have just installed SP2 on my Windows XP machine and I now have no audio. What do I do? |
| |
A: |
Most likely the problem is that you also did a driver update while doing the Windows XP SP2 update. Try going into device manager and rolling back the driver for the Audio device. If this does not work, uninstall and reinstall the driver. If this too does not work, try a manual install of the driver off the Drivers CD. |

Q: |
What type of batteries are supported on 6200/6200A/6100? |
| |
A: |
Model 6200 supports only NiMH battery pack where 6200A and 6100 supports both NiMH and Li-Ion. We use Duracell-compatible battery packs (DR36 for Ni-MH and DR202 for Li-Ion). |
|
|
| |
Q: |
I'm having difficulties fully charging my battery. What could be the problem? |
| |
A: |
If you experience difficulty in charging the battery, or if the battery capacity has decreased over time, the following procedure might re-condition the battery: 1. Unplug the computer from the AC adapter and turn it on. Let the computer run under battery power until the computer turns off, indicating that the battery is fully discharged. 2. Remove and re-insert the battery pack. 3. Plug the computer into the AC adapter. 4. With the PC turned off, let the battery charge until the battery status light glows green. 5. Unplug the AC adapter. 6. Remove the battery. 7. Wait 30 seconds and re-insert the battery. 8. Plug the AC adapter back in. 9. Let the battery recharge until the battery status light turns green or the icon displays 100%. 10. Now your battery should be fully charged. Unplug the computer from the AC wall outlet and turn on the PC. You should notice longer battery life. All batteries hold less charge as they age. Over time, if you attempt to charge a battery and the battery charge indicator does not show a full charge, you may need to purchase a new battery. |
|
|
| |
Q: |
I have a problem with my laptop battery... it does not hold the charge. |

Q: |
It seems my computer runs very hot. I am afraid there is a problem with cooling system. What should I do? |
| |
A: |
Cooling fans in notebook computer are more important than in desktop. Less space means less cooling air for the hardware. Do not restrict air supply to the fans. If you think that your computer is running to hot causing it to slow down or hang you should have it inspected by a certified technician. To extend life of your system you should follow a number of steps outlined by our "Tune up" program. |

| |
A: |
Please contact upgrades@eurocom.com with details about required accessories. |
|
|
| |
Q: |
How frequent are driver updates for my notebook? |
| |
A: |
The driver updates are released periodically on our website. As the drivers are developed by chip manufacturers the frequency will depend on features available with new release and compatibility with our particular hardware implementation. All new drivers must be fully tested on our notebooks before they can be released to the public. Because we can not always predict the behavior of the hardware with non-Eurocom approved drivers we must advise against using them. |

Q: |
I have a Monte Carlo 5600N notebook running Windows XP Home. I recently installed some new software for digital camera. Ever since then, the computer has been unable to go on standby or to hibernate. |
| |
A: |
The driver for your camera might be preventing the system from going into standby mode or hibernation mode by continually sending requests to the computer. This occurs when power management software then provides recourses necessary to handle these requests in effect keeping the system running. This effect is especially critical when laptops are on battery power, as the expected power saving settings of standby or hibernation will not be applied. This can lead to shorter battery run times. |
